When you think of Easter, the thought of spring colors, the easter bunny, and egg hunts come to mind.

You know what else should come to mind? Your Four Legged Friend!

Even though Easter isn’t National Dog Day, who said that it’s not an excuse to not include your dog in the celebration.

Here are 3 ways to include your dog in this coming Easter:

1. Set up a Egg Hunt

Yes, that’s right. The good ol’ traditional egg hunt.

We all know that your dog loves sniffing around like it’s nobody’s business. An egg hunt is the perfect activity to get your dogs doing what your pal does best.

How can you set up an egg hunt for your dog? First you need to set a location.

An open space that your dog can roam around leash free without running into any trouble. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Local Park

  • Backyard

  • Dog Park

  • Beach

You want to make sure your location is big enough to hide your eggs but small enough to keep an eye on your pup.

Next... you need to grab some of their favorite treats.

I’m talking about treats that they just can’t get enough of. The key is to make the treats have a scent to them (it’ll make the hunt easier). Try including one of our chews - your dog will be able to sniff them out but you won’t smell a thing.

Lastly, stuff the treats into a decoration egg and choose your hiding spot! If your dog is having a little bit of trouble, feel free to guide them around the area.

P.S. Call up some of your friends and see if their dogs want to get in on the fun. The more, the merrier!

2. Dress Up and Go On a Photoshoot!

Who doesn’t like a good dress up with your pup. Any costume on a dog makes them 10x cuter. The theme here is Easter. Meaning that it times for a transformation AKA “operation to turn your dog into an Easter bunny” Head to the local pet store and grab a set of bunny ears.

Don’t just stop there though.

Grab a few props too. Here are some suggestions:

  • Colorful decoration eggs

  • Easter basket

  • Toy carrot

  • Fake flowers

  • Bow/ribbon

The park is the perfect place for a springtime Easter photoshoot! All you have to do now is snap away. Get a few different angles and use all the props you have to the best of your abilities.

Don’t forget to bring a squeak toy or a treat to keep looking right at their camera. Need some inspiration?

3. Homemade Easter Treats

Want to include your dog in the Easter party but in a festive way?

Put your cooking skills and your dog’s taste buds to the test.
There’s a whole bunch of homemade treats you can find online that are safe, tasty, and cheap.

Not only will your dog love them... BUT they are simple and easy to make. There are only a few ingredients that you have to buy (you might even have all the ingredients already).

Here’s a quick and easy one if you want to get started.

How do you make it Easter related?

Simple.

You can get creative here. There’s a baking mold for just about anything. Pick out molds that look easter related: bunnies, easter eggs, egg basket, bunny ears. Then, follow the rest of the recipe of your choice with new mold and voila!

You now have tasty Easter treats to include your dog for the Easter celebration.

The perfect occasion if you have Easter party with the family and don’t want to leave your dog out of the festivities.

Or...

It’s just you and your furry friend for the Easter weekend and you have nothing to do.

Either way... once those homemade treats come out of the oven, your dog’s tail will be wagging.
